Anambra: Atiku, Soludo Meet Ahead Of PDP Presidential Rally – [Photos]

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, met in Awka, the state capital, today.

Naija News reports that Atiku and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta State),  arrived in Awka on Thursday, December 15, 2022, for PDP presidential campaign rally in the state.

The former Vice President and his entourage, including party stakeholders and supporters were received in the state by Governor Soludo and members of his cabinet, and some residents of Anambra.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle on the courtesy visit to Governor Soludo, Atiku said he was delighted to meet the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria who he regarded as promoter of good governance.

Atiku tweeted: “I paid a courtesy call at the Anambra Government House, and I am most delighted for the warm and brotherly reception accorded my team and I by Governor Charles Soludo

“I admire his passion for developmental politics. It’s gladdening to note that we share a similar commitment to the promotion of good governance to better the lots of the common people.”

Atiku’s Youth Mobiliser Shot By Suspected Political Thugs In Rivers

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Rivers State police command confirmed that the Director for Youths Mobilisation, Atiku/Okowa campaign team in Rivers State, Rhino Owhorkire, was shot by gunmen suspected to be political thugs.

Naija News gathered that the spokesperson of the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident to Punch.

According to her, “Yes, it happened. I have spoken with the Divisional Police Officer in that area. We are working to get the details, but I can tell you that investigation has commenced.

“We will get to the root of the matter and fish out those behind the attack and ensure they face justice.”

Owhorkire, who was on his way home in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State was allegedly shot on Wednesday night.

A source told Punch on Thursday morning that the assailants shot at Owhorkire’s vehicle tyres before shooting in his direction through the windscreen.

The source, who pleaded anonymity while giving an account of the attack noted that Owhorkire is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.

The source “He is a native of Aluu. He was driving to his house yesterday night and was shot by some unknown persons.

“They shot the tyres of his car, shot directly at his windscreen and that is how he received those injuries on his mouth. His mouth was scattered.

“As I speak with you, he is in serious pain. His mouth is scattered. But he is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.”
