A View Of Ekwueme Square’s New Look As Atiku Storms Anambra Today
The venue of the Peoples Democratic Party‘s (PDP) campaign kick-off in Anambra State is said to be wearing a new look, as PDP supporters are expecting the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar in the state today.
The Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the state capital, which is the venue for the PDP campaign is said to be all set to receive Atiku and other party chieftains who will be attending the campaign.
Naija News reports that a visit to the square revealed how the place has been well decorated with colours of the PDP with the PDP umbrella logo.
This platform reported on Wednesday that Atiku is set to visit Anambra State on Thursday, for the kick-off of the party’s campaign.
The Director of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council in the state, Obiora Okonkwo, stated in a press conference in Awka on Wednesday that the presidential campaign kick-off in Awka will prove that Anambra is a PDP state.
He said that upon arrival in Awka, Atiku and his team would pay a visit to the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo at the Government House, Awka.
After which an interactive session with traditional rulers, led by the Chairman of the South East Traditional Rulers Council, and traditional ruler of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe would hold.
Party faithful from all parts of the state were reported to have started trooping to the venue to await the arrival of their flag bearer.
Atiku, who is billed to arrive in the state any moment, will move to the governor’s lodge, where he will hold separate meetings with the state governor, town union leaders, market leaders, and traditional rulers before proceeding to Ekwueme square for the rally.
