The National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure has been accused of obtaining money from candidates of the party under false pretence.

A petition spotted by Naija News shows that the allegation was levelled against Abure by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Abayomi Arabambi.

Arabambi in the petition had accused Abure of obtaining money from candidates and aspirants who purchased forms to contest under the party.

According to Arabambi, the candidates and aspirants that were allegedly defrauded by Abure are ready to testify against him and give evidence of proof.

The counsel team of the Labour Party Publicity Secretary stated that one of the candidates, Hon. George Gabriel Chiadikaobi, whose name was submitted to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the Party candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, informed Arabambi that on the 22nd of
August 2022, he paid the sum of N2.5m to the Labour Party account.

He further stated that at various times, over 27,000,000 million was paid to the National Chairman of the party through other members of the party including Comrade Joseph Ndirang and others that will form a witness team against Abure.

Arabambi through his legal team said the National Chairman of the party has abused his office and has used his office to personally enrich himself.
