Chatham House has extended an invitation to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, to speak about his plans for Nigeria as the 2023 general election draws near.

Naija News reports that the development is coming few days when Obi’s counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu,  appeared at Chatham House in London.

Obi, who is billed to feature on the platform on January 16 2023, would be the second presidential candidate in the 2023 general election to be invited to address the global forum.

It would be recalled that Tinubu on Monday appeared at the global forum, where he revealed some of his plans for major sectors if he is elected president.

Tinubu shared his thoughts on issues of security, economy, education among others  during his address titled “Nigeria’s 2023 elections: Security, economic and foreign policy imperatives.”

The APC flag bearer had come under heavy criticism for choosing to feature at Chatham House in London, when he had ignored invitations to feature on Arise TV town hall meeting.

However, Naija News gathered that Chatham House Africa, in a tweet on Thursday, disclosed that Peter Obi would be addressing the world on the forum.

The tweets read “Nigeria’s 2023 Elections: In conversation with @PeterObi.

“The second of our events examining #Nigeria’s 2023 elections and political developments will take place on January 16, 2023.”
