Residents of Nkpologwu, a community in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, are reportedly living in fear and worry after some gunmen reportedly snatched newborn babies from a hospital.

Reports obtained by Naija News on Thursday claimed that the assailants attacked a maternity hospital (name withheld) in the community and whisked away four toddlers.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday night but was made known to members of the community the following day.

“It happened in our community, and people have been discussing it since Wednesday morning. They said some gunmen stormed the hospital (name withheld) and took four babies away.

“From what people are saying in the community, no one was injured and killed in the attack too. The motive for the invasion of the hospital was not known to anyone,” a resident told Daily Post on Thursday.

Residents are, however, left in a puzzle on whether the kidnapped babies are been sold to childless individuals or were taken away for ritual purposes.

The State Command of the Nigeria Police Force could not confirm the incident as of reporting time.

“I don’t have such a report before me now,” said the spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, when the news platform contacted him.

The church said details of his funeral would be made public once the details are finalised. Naija News understands that Pastor Otoh was also a medical consultant.

“It is with rude shock and great sadness, but with consolation in His word, we at THE SHEPHERD’S HOUSE ASSEMBLY announce the passing on to Glory of our beloved pastor, husband, father, medical consultant Rev. Dr Daniel Otoh.

“He transitioned on Sunday, 4th December 2022.

“He was a great treasure and inspiration to us all here at the Shepherd’s House church.

“In conjunction with the family, visitation and funeral announcements will be made available as soon as those details are finalised.

“We do not mourn. To sleep in Christ is a gain to heaven. Let God be God,” the Church’s statement reads.
