The Anambra State chapter of the Labour Party is set to ensure Peter Obi‘s victory in the forthcoming polls as it inaugurated a Presidential Campaign Committee (PCC) to achieve the aim, Naija News reports.

The inauguration of the 800 PCC members was confirmed in a statement on Wednesday by the committee chairman, Chief Joe-Martins Uzodike, who doubles as the state coordinator, while former Commissioner for Lands in the state, Okolo Akirika, will serve as the secretary.

Interacting with reporters earlier in Awka, the state capital, Uzodike said Labour Party was serious about salvaging Nigeria from the current situation brought upon it by the incumbent leadership.

He charged the members to work together to ensure that the party get a resounding victory at the presidential poll, warning that the party would not hesitate to remove any member found wanting in his assigned duty or office.

According to him, the newly inaugurated PCC in the state is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring victory for its presidential candidate, Obi.

He said, “This is the committee by the LP presidential candidate. These are those who will work for our presidential candidate. The Presidential campaign is different from other campaigns, which is why all our candidates are committee members.

“We also thank Nigerians for finding Peter Obi worthy of contesting the presidential election. Nigerians don’t need to verify anymore because all the facts have been verified. This LP is now a serious-minded project, and we are out to take back Nigeria for Nigerians.”

On his part, the party chairman in Anambra State, Ugochukwu Emeh, congratulated members for being found worthy of working in the state’s presidential campaign committee.

Emeh pointed out that the forthcoming presidential election would not be business as usual, as, according to him, the LP was set to make a disruptive change that would bring succour to all Nigerians.

He stressed that Obi being an indigene and a former governor of the state, all hands must be on deck to give him a resounding victory – not just victory at the polls, but at least 95 per cent victory in the state.
