Controversial Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze, has caused reactions over his subtle comment on the arrest of a certain Nigerian celebrity.

This comes a few hours after Nigerian singer, Dbanj was arrested for fraud by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offenses Commission, (ICPC).

Naija News earlier reported that the singer’s arrest came several weeks after he failed to appear for interrogations by the agency over fraud allegations.

Dbanj, was arrested on Tuesday after ICPC operatives closed in on him, forcing him to surrender himself at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

The agency accused the pop star of fraudulently diverting hundreds of millions of naira earmarked by the Nigerian government for N-Power project, an empowerment program set up by the Nigerian government in 2016 to address youth unemployment and increase social development.

In a post shared on Instagram, Daddy Freeze who didn’t mention Dbanj’s name pointed out the similarity between a certain celebrity’s action and what many Nigerians accuse politicians of doing.

He wrote: “A Nigerian celeb has been called out for allegedly doing what we accuse politicians of doing… Over to you guys…”.

The comment sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians as some questioned him over the fear of mentioning Dbanj’s name while others claimed that the Nigerian entertainment industry is synonymous with fraud.
