As the 2023 general election inches closer, the Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has enjoined Christians in the country to continue praying for God’s chosen leader to emerge at the polls next year.

Naija News reports that the Kaduna State CAN Chairman, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, said he was optimistic and hopeful that God will do something great in Nigeria.

According to him, Christians all over the country should pray fervently, especially concerning next year’s elections for God’s chosen leaders to emerge to pilot the country’s affairs in the way of the Lord.

Hayab, who made the call after the association’s Christmas carol on Sunday, maintained that he believed that favour is coming the way of Nigeria, especially in the 2023 elections.

He asked Nigerians to pray for God’s mercy upon the land so that the citizens would once again live in peace and harmony, noting that it is the only way the country can showcase its potential to the world.

The Kaduna CAN chairman pointed out that “Nigerians have suffered a lot, and we believed the Almighty Father, in His infinite mercy will remember the country as He favoured Mary to be the mother of Jesus Christ, the saviour of the world.

“The God we serve is a merciful God that showered His mercy, not because of our righteousness but because He is merciful, He will by faith shower His mercy upon the country and give us God-fearing President and other leaders that will work for the full restoration of the land in peace, unity and development.”

He however reiterated that Nigerians should continue to seek the face of God concerning the affairs of the country and ask for His intervention so the country’s lost glory will be restored and take its place in the community of nations.
