The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has revealed the outcome of his last medical examination.

The former Governor of Kano State, aspiring to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari after the 2023 polls, said on Sunday that he had at least 30 years left to worry about his health condition.

Naija News reports that Kwankwaso stated this while challenging other presidential candidates aspiring for a political position in the country to make public their health status.

Kwankwaso, who was among presidential candidates in attendance at the Arise Television presidential town hall series yesterday said his health is sound, and he can present his medical certificate for Nigerians to see.

“I believe that if you’re aspiring to lead people, you owe them accountability regarding your health status.

“I assure you that I am in good health and I can release my certificate for you to see. And the last medical examination I had gave me a good health guarantee of 30 years,” Kwankwaso said.

Earlier, the NNPP presidential candidate advised Nigerian leaders to stop traveling abroad for medical tourism.

Kwankwaso said the leaders must desist from jetting out of Nigeria to treat themselves no matter the ailment and fix the medical facilities in the country.

He said that the issue of medical tourism must be eradicated, adding that his administration will reform and strengthen the health insurance scheme if elected as President in 2023.

The NNPP flagbearer also promised to use the local health facilities than embark on medical tourism if he becomes the President in 2023.

He said: “Our leaders must pay attention to the local health sector rather than abandoning the health sector in the country. As long as leaders go for medical treatment abroad, everyone will do the same. Once you are aspiring to lead the people, they will know whether you are the best or not.”
