2023: Deji AdAeyanju Accuses Peter Obi Of Raising Funds From Diaspora

An Abuja-based socio-political activist, Deji Adeyanju has come out to give reasons why he declared that a vote for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi is a vote for his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

According to him, both candidates are business partners, considering the fact that Obi was Atiku’s running mate at the 2019 general election.

It would be recalled that Obi was Atiku’s running mate during the 2019 presidential election under the PDP’s platform.

Naija News reports that in a series of Twitter post, Adetanju had advised Nigerians to vote for a candidate who has never stolen public funds because Nigeria needs a clean start.

He said Labour Party members who prefers Obi stepping down for his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, rather than Atiku, should urge him to do so.

Adeyanju noted that if he steps down for Tinubu, then there won’t be need to split the votes of the South since they are agitating that they don’want another northerner as president.

The activist wrote “A vote for Obi is a vote for Atiku. Don’t forget they are both business partners and ran together in 2019. Vote a candidate that has never stolen public funds before; clean start for Nigeria.

“Since Labor Party folks are saying they don’t mind Tinubu instead of Atiku, so why not prevail upon your candidate to step down for Asiwaju so as not to split the votes of the South since you guys are doing South United to prevent another northerner? This suggestion is very good.”
