The PUNCH: The total debts of 10 oil-producing states rose from N2.04tn in December 2015 to N3.35tn as of June 2022, according to sub-national debt reports of the Debt Management Office. This means that a total of N1.31tn was borrowed within a period of about seven years by the states


The Guardian: The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday, admitted that the immediate past governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola; former deputy governor, Benedict Alabi and other appointees of the administration took away their official vehicles after getting approval from Oyetola.


The Nation: FOR the second day running, governors were under fire yesterday. Twenty-four hours after the Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, blamed rising poverty and hardship on them, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, said the states got N5.03 trillion support from the Federal Government in seven years.


Daily Trust: The National Security Adviser, Major Babagana Monguno, says no amount of security threats will stop the 2023 general elections from taking place as planned. He spoke while featuring at the Ministerial Media Briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
