The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reacted to the inauguration of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the executive Governor of Osun State.

Naija News reports that Adeleke took the oath of office and allegiance as Osun state governor on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

In a Twitter thread on Monday night, Obi congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain as the state’s sixth governor, describing his inauguration as dogged and resilient.

The presidential hopeful wished Adeleke a fruitful and productive tenure as governor. Obi urged Governor Adeleke to serve the state’s people during his tenure.

The Labour Party presidential candidate’s tweets read: “I congratulate the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola AdelekeĀ and the good people of Osun State, on his inauguration and formal commencement of the elected mandate of his people.

“Beyond our partisanship in politics, every successful manifestation of the democratic process, above all impediments, is a triumph of the true will of the majority and a source of shared joy to all who desire the best for our dear country.

“I salute the doggedness and resilience of Governor Adeleke and wish him a fruitful and productive tenure in the service of his people.”

Naija News reports that the newly inaugurated governor defeated his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, during the July 16 governorship election in the State.

He won the election on the platform of the PDP after losing out in the 2018 gubernatorial election.
