The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, has enjoined Nigerians to endure the hardships in the country, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has just six months to go.

Naija News gathered that Adebutu, who made this call while addressing pressmen at the 2022 Akesan Day festival in his Iperu hometown, said the hardship would not tarry, so Nigerians should please bare it till the APC is out of power.

Adebutu expressed optimism that the APC would not stay in office beyond May 29, 2023, noting that he has confidence that “the people will vote them out with their PVC.”

His reaction is against the backdrop of the current fuel scarcity rocking most parts of the country, which is characterised by long queues and hikes in the cost of the product in most states.

Naija News understands that fuel is sold in states between N200 and N300 per litre, while residents in border towns get the product for up to N500 per litre.

The situation has caused a hike in transport fares, including the cost of food and other items, creating hardships for the people.

Naija News recalls that the Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan the Oyo State capital had on Monday set aside the September 27 judgment of an Abeokuta high court which nullified all PDP primaries in the state and reinstated Adebutu as the authentic governorship candidate of the PDP in Ogun.

The Ogun PDP governorship candidate, while reacting to the plight of Nigerians especially the Ogun people, pledged that if the PDP is elected to power next year, there would be abundance for all and sundry.

Adebutu also said the party would restructure Ogun and Nigeria, and comfort will return to the people of Iperu, Ogun and Nigeria at large.

He submitted that “APC has just six months to leave government. In the next six months, comfort will return to the people of Iperu, Ogun and Nigeria in general. We shall have security, we will have good governance. There shall be peace in our state and we’ll have a system that is all-embracing. Let’s just endure the hardship they keep giving to us in Nigeria. There will be an abundance in the next six months.”

Speaking about the festival, Adebutu accused the APC in Ogun of turning the yearly Akesan festival into a campaign rally, an action meant to subvert the cultural pride of all Iperu indigenes.
