PDP Denies Appointing Anthony Ehilebo As Head Of New Media

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disclosed the suspension of all matters relating to the governorship primary election in Imo State until after the 2023 general elections.

Naija News learnt that the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, who made the revelation on Monday, said the party made the decision at the meeting to resolve issues in the state chapter of the party.

Ologunagba condemned the suspension of some local government chapter chairmen in the state, noting that under no circumstance should party members be suspended, sanctioned, intimidated or victimized on account of legitimate and lawful democratic expression or association within the provision of the party’s constitution.

According to him, the list for the Imo State chapter of the presidential campaign council should be referred to the National Presidential Campaign Council for review and greater inclusiveness of party members in the state in compliance with the guideline set up by the party.

He also disclosed that the party resolved at the meeting that proper democratic processes should be adopted when is time to hold the primary election in the state.

The PDP national publicity secretary said the implementation of due democratic processes during the primary election would guarantee a free and fair process for all members interested in participating in the process.

Ologunagba further noted that the party also resolved that the two contending aspirants should discuss privately how to ensure a smooth, united and cohesive presidential, national and state assembly elections campaign for the 2023 general elections.

The Vice-Presidential candidate was also directed to meet with critical leaders for further discussion and resolution of all issues in the Imo State chapter of the party.

The NWC commended the Imo State stakeholders for their openness at the meeting and urged them to further unite and forge a formidable front for the tasks ahead.
