Naija News looks at the top happenings making headlines on the front pages of Nigeria’s national newspapers today Monday 28th November 2022.

The PUNCH: The lowest price the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited can sell Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, to marketers, assuming there is no subsidy, is N400/litre, it has been learnt. Oil marketers, who made the disclosure on Sunday, also gave other reasons for the continued scarcity of petrol, which had led to the lingering queues at filling stations nationwide.

The Guardian: Barring a special intervention, local air travellers should brace up for another round of airfare hikes this festive season, alongside a high probability of flight delays and cancellations nationwide. Besides the harmattan haze expected to disrupt operations during the peak period, high cost of operations, especially aviation fuel crossing the N800/litre mark, has raised fares to N150,000 on one-way Economy class – subject to seat availability.

The Nation: An Attack on another Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office yesterday has raised fresh concerns over the safe conduct of next year’s general election. The electoral umpire announced last night that its Izzi Local Government Area Office, located in Iboko, Ebonyi State, was set ablaze by suspected arsonists

Daily Trust: Stakeholders, business owners and experts have decried the difficulty in opening corporate/business accounts owing to the anti-money laundering certificate required from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The certificate, known as the SCUML certificate, is obtained from the EFCC as part of requirements to open an account by Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) in Nigeria.
