Former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the allege arrest of a student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa, Aminu Adamu over a statement he made on the First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

Naija News recalls that Adamu made a tweet in June 2022, writing in Hausa “Su mama anchi kudin talkawa ankoshi” which means ‘The mother has got fatter by eating masses’ money’.

According to reports, the young man was apprehended by the Department of State Services (DSS) within his campus on November 8 and was only allowed to speak to his father, Shalele Azare Adamu.

Reacting to the incident via a tweet, Sani condemned the actions of the government.

He opined that the current administration are allergic to criticism despite the fact that they tweeted almost the same thing about the past administration.

He insisted that if the former administration had been in the business of jailing those who criticise the government on social media many of those in power would be locked up.

He wrote, “If the past administration has arrested and jailed people for tweets, many of those in power today would have still be behind bars

“They don’t want to have a taste of the food they cooked. They are allergic to criticism.”
