Ronaldo Responds to Manchester United Terminating His Contract

Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has responded as Manchester United parts ways with him.

A statement by the Five-time Ballon d’Or winner “Wishes Manchester United well” after the contract termination.

Naija News recalls that the Portuguese player made a switch from the Italian side, Juventus, to his boyhood club in what was seen as a “One last dance” for the star.

The former Juventus forward scored 18 domestic league goals for United and 23 goals in all competitions in his first year of arrival.

The dance, however, never ended well when a contentious interview was released to the masses stating the Red Devils has “betrayed” him.

CR7 exposed in his interview that the club did not give him the necessary support when he lost his daughter and dished out other criticism to his former and present teammates.

Naija News earlier reported that the Portugal talisman granted an interview with a broadcast journalist who revealed that the interview was made out of the star’s frustration.

Following the first episode of the interview, Manchester United released a statement that a decision would be made after a detailed investigation has been made.

On Tuesday, the club announced it has reached a conclusion and has parted ways with the Portuguese by mutual consent.

Ronaldo, in response to the termination, wished his boyhood club well and noted that his love for the club and the fans will never change.

He wrote: “I love Manchester United, and I love the fans; that will never ever change.”

“However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.

“I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”
