President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, has caused a stir after sharing samples of crude oil discovered in the North on social media.

It would be recalled that the NNPC had in October 2019, announced the discovery of crude oil, gas and condensate in the Kolmani River region at the border community between Bauchi and Gombe states.

Three years after the discovery, President Buhari who also doubles as the Minister of Petroleum Resources on Tuesday officially flagged off the ground-breaking ceremony of the Kolmani OPLs 809 and 810 at the Kolmani field site in Bauchi and Gombe States.

Buhari was joined by some of his cabinet members, including the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.

Okekeuba_Festus wrote: ”Good development; but I prefer @nnpclimited publish a final report; discovery of crude oil in a basin is not the end but delineating it’s reserve capacity will inform us if Kolmani reserve is economical or we add Kolmani to category of “places”, we can just find crude in Nigeria.”
