Atiku And Okowa Pull Out Of Presidential Town Hall Meeting At The Last Minute

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Ifeanyi Okowa have pulled out from a presidential town hall meeting.

Naija News reports that the presidential town hall meeting known as ‘The Candidates’ is organized by the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).

The TV station had earlier announced on Twitter that they would be hosting Atiku and Okowa Today, the 22nd of November.

They wrote, “The Candidates Presidential Townhall Series will be hosting Atiku Abubakar the presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections. Time: 7.00pm”

However, in another tweet, the TV station has once again announced that Atiku and his running mate could not keep the appointment due to unforeseeable circumstances.

The tweet read, ” Due to unavoidable conflicts,  Alh. Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of the People’s Democratic Party, will not be participating.”

Emefiele Gives Update On The New Unveiling Of Naira Notes

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari will unveil the redesigned Naira notes on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

Emefiele disclosed this while speaking at the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee monthly meeting in Abuja.

Naija News recalls that the CBN Governor in October had announced that the apex bank would issue redesigned N200, N500, and ₦1,000 notes, effective December 15, 2022,

Emefiele, however, on Tuesday noted that the apex bank will not wait till December anymore for the unveiling of the new notes.

According to Emefiele, the deadline for returning the old Naira notes to commercial banks in exchange for newly designed ones would not be shifted.
