An ex-coach of the Super Eagles said Senegal has "a number of tactical options."

Ex-Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has advised Senegal to look at other options aside from the Injured star, Sadio Mane.

Recall that the Bayern Munich forward has been battling with recovering from the injury he picked up in his club’s 6-1 victory against Werder Bremen.

The former Burkina Faso manager believes Senegal will advance from Group A of the 2022 World Cup.

The Netherlands, Qatar, the host country, and Ecuador are also represented in Group A.

However, Ecuador overcame Qatar 2-0 in the first game on Sunday to maintain their chances of moving on to the next round.

Mane, who hoped to recover quickly from his knock, was ruled out of the tournament, thereby offering a big blow for his national team.

The ex-Liverpool attacker won’t take part in certain vital games against the Netherlands and other nations that may easily end Senegal’s chances of winning the World Cup.

However, according to Rohr, Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly, would likely be heavily relied upon to lead the club moving ahead.

While speaking to Wettbasis, he said, “In Sadio Mane, they have a star who can make the difference on his own and in Kalidou Koulibaly, a very strong, athletic defender at the back,”

“They have had the same coach in Aliou Cisse for over six years. You have several tactical options.” said the German.
