75 Year-Old Man Rapes Six Year-Old Grandniece

A 75-year-old man, identified as Musa Gambo, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, for allegedly raping his six-year-old great-grandniece in Jigawa State.

Naija News gathered that the spokesman of the Jigawa State NSCDC Command, Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) Adamu Shehu confirmed the arrest in a statement.

He stated that the suspect was apprehended as a result of a social worker’s report after the latter received an emergency call from a victim’s family friend who claimed to have caught the suspect in the act while visiting the girl’s grandmother.

Adamu stated that NSCDC personnel detained the suspect on Wednesday at 1 pm at Gandun Sarki Quarters, Malam Madori LGA, on allegations of raping a six-year-old girl who is his grandniece.

According to the eyewitness, Malama Maimuna, she caught the old man with the girl on his lap while he sexually abused her in his room.

She said: “I immediately informed the girl’s grandmother who rushed to the room and also saw the same”

Adamu said the victim also confirmed that she had been severally abused by the suspect who usually gave her sweets and also threatened her not to tell anyone.

He added that the suspect has also confessed to the crime, attributing it to the work of the devil and he would be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.

A medical report obtained by DAILY POST from the Sexual Assault and Referral Center (SARC) in Dutse General Hospital showed evidence of sexual abuse as the minor’s hymen was broken.
