2023 Presidency: 'You're A Chronic Liar' - Okowa Fires Omo-Agege

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has slammed the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, over his recent allegations.

Naija News reports that Omo-Agege, during a campaign rally in Delta State over the weekend, had accused the Okowa-led government of spending over N2.8trn in seven years without anything to show for it.

The Delta APC governorship candidate also claimed that Okowa’s woeful performance in office has led to the infrastructural dilapidation of major areas of the state.

Reacting to the accusations on Sunday, state Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, described Omo-Agege as a chronic liar and a betrayer.

Aniagwu also berated the Deputy Senate President for failing to differentiate between federal and state roads, saying that he cannot continue to deceive Deltans.

He also refuted claims by Omo-Agege that the Okowa administration had nothing to justify the more than N2.8trn so far received from the federation account in over seven years.

Aniagwu, therefore, advised the Deputy Senate President to tow another path, saying that he cannot win a local government chairmanship position let alone the governorship seat.

He said, “Omo-Agege is a liar and the lie will not help him; Deltans are wise and he cannot keep deceiving them.

“Omo-Agege cannot differentiate between federal and state roads. If he does not have knowledge of roads, he should keep quiet.

“This is a man who led thugs to the National Assembly to shut down the Senate by carrying mace, for which we have apologised to Nigerians because he is our son.

“Omo-Agege never sponsored a bill let alone assent to it. He did not have a bill in his name. He cannot win local government chairman let alone win governor seat in this state.”
