Sani Magaji Tambuwal has been appointed as the acting Clerk of the National Assembly following the retirement of Amos Olatunde Ojo on Tuesday.

Naija News reports that the Executive Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Ahmed Kadi Amshi, made this known in a statement on Friday.

The NSC chairman said Tambuwal, until his appointment, was the Secretary of Finance and Accounts of the National Assembly.

Amshi said Amos would continue to work with Tambuwal until his retirement date of 14th February 2023 to ensure the success of the ongoing 2023 Appropriation Bill’s processing.

According to the statement, Ogunlana Kamoru was promoted from the post of Secretary of Legal Services to the Acting Deputy Clerk of the Nation Assembly.

It added that Henrietta Aimua-Ehikioya, who was the Secretary of Special Duties, was redeployed to the post of Secretary of Legal Services.

The Director of Legislative, Birma Shuaibu, was elevated to the post of Secretary of the Human Resources Directorate, while the Director of Pharmacy, Umoru Barde Ali, was appointed as the acting Secretary of Research and Information.

Others are the Director of Legislative, Omogbehin Yomi, who was appointed as acting Secretary of Special Duties and the Director of Accounts, Inyang Clement Titus, who was elevated to the post of Secretary, Finance, and Accounts.

Nwoba Andrew, who is the Director of Administration was elevated to the position of acting Secretary, Planning and Legislative Budget.

Amshi said the appointments were sequel to the approval of a memorandum presented by the Committee on Establishment, Records, and Training to the Commission on the need to fill existing vacancies in the National Assembly Management team.
