Award-winning skit maker, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Ejekwu popularly known as Sabinus, has publicly apologized after being called out for failing to appear at a paid event.

According to reports, Sabinus was paid N2 million to perform at an event at Oko Poly in Anambra State yesterday 17th November.

The organizers were said to have booked a business-class ticket for the social media sensation.

However, on the day of the event, Sabinus switched off his phone and refused to show up.

The students got enraged and vented their anger on the organizers by destroying properties.

Angered by the rage of the students, the organizers called for the sanctioning of the comedian.

Replying swiftly, Sabinus via his Instastory released a clip tendering an apology for not showing up at the event.

According to the comedian, he has not been feeling fine, hence the reason he couldn’t make it to the event.

He then promised to make it up by offering the organizers another date.

I Cannot Be Phased Out

Meanwhile, Nollywood actor, Charles Awurum has declared that he cannot be phased out, considering the growing popularity among skit makers.

The actor made this known during an interview with journalists over the weekend, stating that he has God’s gift which makes it impossible for him to be replaced.

According to Awurum, his comic character in movies has become a part of his life, stressing that on many occasions, he had to compel people to take him seriously.

He said: “I cannot be phased out. What I have is God’s gift; it is not possible (for me to be displaced).

“There are so many times that people don’t take me seriously, and I have to force them to take me seriously. At times when they see me, they would just start laughing. But, when I start talking, they would know that I am serious. I don’t do comedy outside television. When I am not on set, I am different.”
