The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, made ten promises to leaders of the private sector and trade associations in the South East.

At a Town Hall meeting in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Tinubu promised to address the grievances of the people of the South East and would not segregate in forming his government.

The former Governor of Lagos State also promised to fight corruption and address insecurity if elected as the next President in 2023.

Below is the list of promises Tinubu made to the private sector drivers and other business leaders.

– Tinubu promised the people of South East massive economic development and a forward-looking government that would assuage the past difficulties people of the region had been enmeshed in.

– He promised to create jobs and build new industrial hubs in Aba and Owerri and other parts of the country, while already existing ones would be modernized if he becomes Nigeria’s president.

– The APC flagbearer also promised to make consumer loans more available and also make access to credit facilities available to traders across the region and the country in general.

– Tinubu promised to build an economy with a growing industrial base, more and better jobs for Nigerian youth, and more high-quality home-grown goods to sell and merchandise

– The APC candidate promised to put in place policies that will boost trade and commerce, solve the forex crisis and ensure that traders have easy access to a unified forex market.

– The former Governor of Lagos State also vowed to seek to revive struggling industries in the South East region and throughout the nation.

– Tinubu promised to work towards integrating all regions in the country to ensure Nigeria continues to remain in unity, stressing that the country’s unity is sacrosanct and non-negotiable.

– The APC presidential flagbearer said the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, would become fully operational to help the large-scale movement of goods across the region.

– Tinubu also prmised to pay attention to roadways eaten by erosion and flooding and give traders better roads they deserve in order to move goods for the benefit of the rest of the population.

– He also promised to work with Uzodinma to push to return Avutu Poultry to its status as a world-class poultry farm and make Ada Palm can become a fulcrum of job creation and foreign currency earnings.
