Victor Osimhen Breaks Silence On Situation At Napoli, Reveals Next Line Of Action

Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro, has given clear reasons why Victor Osimhen has been excluded from the squad to face Portugal.

The Napoli forward’s omission from the team to play against Portugal has received additional clarification from the Portuguese coach following a backlash from sports fans.

Naija News recalls that the 23-year-old striker was selected among other foreign-based players to face the Portuguese, but an update later ruled him out of the international friendly match.

The red-hot striker who was included in the  23-man squad for the tie, will not be able to feature due to a knock he recently picked.

However, Cremonese attacker Cyriel Dessers has been selected to replace him against the Selecao.

His decision to leave the game after playing for 90 minutes in Napoli’s 3-2 triumph over Udinese last weekend prompted questions.

However, according to his country coach, the forward is seriously hurt and will be unable to represent his nation.

While speaking to NFF TV, Peseiro said, “Doctors from Napoli spoke to our doctor that Osimhen is not fit even in the last club game he felt pains in the back,”

“They sent in a report to our doctor and they said he will need between 10-15 days to fully recover.

“Of course, I will like to play him but there is nothing I can do, I always like to play the best.”

However, Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, will not be available for the match as he is reportedly suffering from a stomach bug.
