Troops Kill Boko Haram Commander

Meanwhile, at least fourteen Boko Haram terrorists, including a commander, were killed in a recent encounter with the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State, Naija News learnt.

The gallant troops came in contact with the fleeing terrorists while patrolling the Mafa axis of the state. The encounter reportedly led to the death of Abu Hassan, a commander (Munzir), of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād.

Renowned Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the encounter to newsmen in a report on Tuesday, noting that Abu Hassan, a Commander who led the robbery mission and 13 other fighters were bombed out during the encounter.

He revealed that terrorists were killed after a gunner in the troops’ patrol convoy opened fire on the fleeing terrorist’s position with an Anti-Aircraft gun.

Naija News learnt from the report that one of the terrorists was recorded while speaking with a Commander in the camp of Abu Iklima on the phone. The fighter was reportedly heard saying that the infidels (referring to the troops) had killed 13 Mujahideen, including Abu Hassan.
