One of the abducted female students of Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri in Kebbi state, has reportedly given birth in terrorist captivity.

Naija News reports that the student is one of the minors abducted by terrorists who attacked the school on motorcycles and engaged police officers in a gun duel in June 2021.

After many of the students were rescued by security agencies, eleven of the schoolgirls are still in the abductors’ camp in the forest.

In a report by PRNigeria on Sunday, the 16-year-old female student, whose identity hasn’t been confirmed, gave birth to a baby boy in captivity.

A source told the news platform that after the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu ruled out negotiation with the bandits which demanded ransom, the parents of the kidnapped students contributed and paid the ransom for the release of their daughters.

The source, however, said the parents have expressed concern that despite the payment of ransom and prisoner swap by the Federal Government, their children were yet to be released.

“When the government, especially the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, ruled out negotiation with the armed group which demanded ransom, families of the abducted students contributed and paid the ransom for the release of their daughters.

“It is disheartening that the bandits collected huge ransoms and married off some of the victims and yet refused to release the remaining abductees,” a source was quoted as saying.
