The Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru has told Nigerian students that the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) is working with the Federal Government to pay the seven-month salary backlog of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to him, the 36 governors of the federation have started working on adopting legal ways to resolve the matter with ASUU.

Naija News gathered that Badaru told the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Abuja during the inauguration of its National Executive Council (NEC) that the NGF prays to get to the bottom of the issue because students have suffered enough.

The governor also prayed for the aversion of another strike, noting that he is aware President Muhammadu Buhari is in the know and everything is being done to ensure the smooth academic running of the country’s public universities.
