Full List Of Dignitaries Present At Tinubu’s Meeting With Miners, Others In Lafia

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has met with miners and some Agro-processing stakeholders to unveil his action plan for the mining sector.

Naija News reported that the APC Presidential candidate met with the miners and agro-processors at a town hall meeting on Thursday held at the Late Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall in Government House, Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu promised relevant stakeholders that his administration will invest in solid minerals and agro-processing sectors to boost the country’s economic growth.

He said he would use Public-private partnership initiatives to boost the growth of the sectors for the benefit of Nigerians if elected President in 2023.

The former Governor of Lagos State said the country has abundant, commercially viable solid mineral deposits such as coal, limestone, iron ore, bitumen, lead, zinc, gold, and a variety of gemstones.

Nasarawa, which is a major mining hub for many solid minerals in Nigeria, has deposits of Gold, Barite, Coal, Clay, Lead-Zinc, Sault, Gemstone, Silica Sand, Iron Ore, Granite, Tantalite, Marble, Mica, Cassiterite, Limestone, and Aquamarine.

Below is a roll call of dignitaries present at the meeting.

The event was attended by the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu; the Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Kashim Shettima; the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong, and the host Governor, Abdullahi Sule.

Other APC chieftains in attendance were the House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor of Kastina, Aminu Bello Masari; Governor of Borno, Prof. Babagana Zulum, and former Speaker of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.

Also at the event were the APC National Women leader, Dr. Betta Edu; former Governor of Nasrawa and Senator representing Nasarawa-South, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, and the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Muhammad.
