SDP National Chairman Speaks On El-Rufai, Atiku, Peter Obi Defecting To His Party For 2027 Elections

A House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Ibadan North East/ Ibadan South East federal constituency, Deji Aboderin, has decried the destruction of all his campaign billboards in the Oyo State capital.

According to him, all his billboards erected in areas like Challenge, Gate opposite the civic centre and Iwo road within the federal constituency have been totally destroyed.

With barely a little over 100 days to the general election next year, Naija News has reported several incidents of billboard destruction across states of the federation, with different political parties accusing one another.

Naija News gathered that Aboderin told Daily Post yesterday that he was sure the act was deliberate because just at the back of one of his damaged billboards in a particular location in Ibadan was that of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Abass Adigun Agboworin, which wasn’t touched.

Aboderin, on this premise, alleged that his billboards were being destroyed by members of the ruling PDP in the state because they are afraid of defeat.

He further alleged that certain individuals, who are afraid of his trajectory, have been sponsoring political thugs to destroy his campaign billboards.

Aboderin, who also called on the state security agencies to look into the matter, said “All my campaign billboards have been destroyed by certain political party. There is one at a location, at the back of my billboard is that of the PDP candidate, Abass Adigun Agboworin, they did not touch it, but they destroyed my own billboard. That is why I said it is being sponsored by a certain political party.

“That is why I said that the primary aim of any government is to protect the lives and property of the citizens. If they cannot do that, they should resign or we vote them out.

“Why are they destroying my campaign billboards? It shows that they are afraid. People are now wiser. People are ready to vote for individuals and not political parties.

“It is very wrong for someone to send political thugs to destroy my campaign billboards. I am calling on the security agencies to look into this.”
