2023: Tinubu To Meet Miners, Other Stakeholders In Nasarawa

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to meet miners and other stakeholders in the mining community in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Naija News reports that the Director of Media & Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, made the disclosure in a statement on Wednesday.

He said Tinubu will participate in a town hall meeting with the miners and other critical stakeholders in the sector in continuation of his strategic engagement with players in key sectors of the economy.

Onanuga stated that the meeting is necessitated by the fact that Nasarawa is a major mining hub for many solid minerals in the country.

He asserted that Tinubu will unfold his plan to make mining a major plank of Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda as laid out in his policy document.

The statement read: “The state has deposits of Gold, Barite, Coal, Clay, Lead-Zinc, Sault, Gemstone, Silica Sand, Iron Ore, Granite, Tantalite, Marble, Mica, Cassiterite, Limestone, and Aquamarine.

“At the meeting with the mining community, Tinubu will unfold his plan to make mining a major plank of Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda as laid out in his policy document tagged ‘Action Plan for a Better Nigeria’.”

Recall that the APC candidate has been pitching his manifesto to various stakeholders in the country ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

He started with a meeting with the Business Community in Lagos where business leaders such as Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Jim Ovia, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Herbert Wigwe, and other top Chief Executives were in attendance.

Tinubu on Monday met with farmers and agro-commodity traders in Minna, Niger State, where he shared his action plan for the transformation of agriculture.
