Qatar 2022: Arteta Reacts As Brazil Omits Gabriel

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has described the exclusion of Gabriel Magalhaes’ from Brazil’s World Cup sqaud as disappointing.

Naija News earlier reported that Brazilian coach, Tite, named his 26-man squad on Tuesday ahead of the highly anticipated World Cup holding in Qatar.

Gabriel has been in superb form for Arsenal since the start of the season, among which was earning a one-nil victory for Arsenal in the prestigious London Derby match.

The Spanish boss, however, has expressed his disppointment over Gabriel’s omission from the Brazil’s World Cup Squad and tipped his defender to use it as an incentive to “grow” and “be ready” for the next competition.

However, Gabriel’s colleagues, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, made the cut.

The Selecao Boss, instead of the stopper, chose Thiago Silva, Gleison Bremer, Eder Militao, and Marquinhos.

Arteta, speaking to reporters, said, “For Gabi, it is a disappointment, but when you look at the squad that they have and the experience they have in that position, you have to understand that and it’s another challenge for him.

“He needs to be ready for the next one, he needs to improve and carry on with the good things that he’s been doing,”

Prior to facing Switzerland and Cameroon in Group G, Brazil’s current campaign gets underway against Serbia on November 24.
