Nollywood actor, Jnr Pope Odonwodo better known as Junior Pope has urged everyone planning to travel for Christmas celebration by the end of the year to cancel the plans following the incessant gunmen attack along Lagos- Ibadan expressway.

Naija News reports that gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked passengers along the Lagos -Ibadan expressway on Tuesday.

According to one of the passengers who traveled on the road, the gunmen wore military uniforms when they struck shortly before Shagamu on the expressway on Tuesday.

They were said to have emerged from the bush and started to shoot sporadically at a commercial bus loaded with passengers.

The shooting, according to Punch, damaged the commercial bus conveying the passengers while another passenger lamented the absence of policemen during the operation.

Reacting to the development via the comment section of an Instagram blog, the actor urged people to cancel their Christmas travel plans for the year.

According to him, things are no longer the way they used to be, adding that since the government is refusing to do something about the attacks, people should stay where they are and not bother to travel as the roads are no longer safe.

He wrote: ‘‘Since nothing has been done about this bane , I would advise everyone to just Dey where u Dey , No CHRISTMAS TRAVELING up and down….. Things are no longer the way they used to be..”
