Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery is eager to reconnect with Nigerian international, Samuel Chukwueze in his new team.

Naija News reports that the Spaniard managed the 23-year-old forward for three years in Villareal, after his arrival from Arsenal in 2020 as the club coach.

The Super Eagles player scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists under the Spanish manager.

Emery just left the Spanish team, Villarreal, in order to manage a Premier League team, Aston Villa.

The former Villarreal boos referred to the offer from the English club as something he could not turn down.

According to the Daily Star, the Spaniard is now planning a raid on his previous team, and Chukwueze is one of the players he hopes to transfer to England.

Meanwhile, the forward has spent five seasons with the Spanish team since the 2018–19 season.

Also, Yeremy Pino and Nicolas Jackson, who are two important forwards for Villarreal, are reported to also be on Emery’s radar.

Chukwueze participated in 173 games in all competitions for Villareal and 130 while Emery was in charge at Villarreal.

Villarreal acquired the 23-year-old from Diamond Football Academy in 2018.

Super Eagles Arrive San Jose To Face Costa Rica

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Super Eagles of Nigeria arrived in San Jose on Sunday evening, prior to Thursday’s international friendly encounter between Nigeria and Costa Rica.

The Super Eagles traveled with a playing squad of 18 players, two coaches, and several team officials for the friendly match that the Nigeria Football Federation had scheduled for them.
