APC Holds Solidarity Rally For Tinubu In USA

Some members of the Hausa-language film industry of Northern Nigeria, better known as Kannywood, have been included in the presidential campaign council of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was announced on Tuesday in a statement made available to newsmen by the Director-General of the APC campaign council, Governor Simon Lalong, Naija News reports.

The ruling party had earlier released a list containing names of selected persons to mobilize electorates for the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

In a statement signed by his Spokesperson, Dr Makut Macham, Lalong said APC’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the inclusion of some members of Kannywood into the council.

The APC presidential campaign DG said the inclusion of the actors was aimed at deepening the participation of creative artists from the northern region in the campaigns.

He said the Kannywood group has Abdul-Mahmud Amart as Director, Ismail Afakallah as Deputy Director and Sani Mu’azu, as the Secretary, with other leaders heading different divisions.

The approval, according to Lalong, was the outcome of the recent visit of Tinubu to Kano, where he met members of the group.

He said the APC presidential candidate had promised that Kannywood members would be allowed to be part of the campaigns to showcase their talents while also helping the party win the forthcoming general elections.

Atiku, Tambuwal, Obaseki, Others To Storm Shettima’s Domain For Presidential Rally

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his entourage are expected to be in Borno State on Wednesday for a presidential campaign rally.

Naija News understands that the director general of the PDP presidential campaign organisation, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, his counterpart in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and other PDP chieftains were together in Edo State earlier.

Their next stop tomorrow, Wednesday, November 9, would be Maiduguri, Borno State capital, says Tambuwal in a statement released on Tuesday (today).

According to the PDP chieftain, the presidential rally will take place in Ramat Square in Maiduguri tomorrow (Wednesday) at noon.

Naija News reports that APC Vice Presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, hails from Borno State.

However, in continuation of PDP’s bid to take over power from the ruling power come 2023, Tambuwal invited all elected officials and party members to attend and work with the party’s presidential nominee to rebuild the country.
