2023: Melaye Knocks Fani-Kayode Over Comment On Tinubu, Shettima

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, has slammed a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, for describing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, as godly men.

Naija News reports that Fani-Kayode had in a recent statement opined that the APC candidate and his running mate are godly men who have been destined to help the country.

Reacting in a statement on Saturday titled, ‘Femi Fani-Kayode: the puerile defender of the ungodly’, Melaye said Fani-Kayode was not in his right sense to have described Tinubu and Shettima as goldy men.

The spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council argued that Fani-Kayode’s description of Tinubu and Shettima was ironic and funny.

Melaye queried Shettima‘s whereabouts when over 100 Chibok girls were abducted and transported into Sambisa Forest in Borno State for months.

Melaye, therefore, advised the former minister to embrace the teachings of Proverbs 17 vs 28, saying his comment was “another bad outing for an unguarded parrot.”

He said, “What sardonic humour to award Shettima the undeserved award of a helper of Nigeria? Where is the record of that service? Where was Shettima when the Chibok girls were hauled into Sambisa Forest (in 2014)?

“My brotherly counsel for Femi Fani-Kayode is to always be in a good frame of mind, which could offer him the alertness to know what to say, when to say it, and to whom to say it. It’s another bad outing for an unguarded parrot.”
