Ghana Names World Cup Provisional List For Qatar 2022

The Head Coach of Ghana, Otto Addo, has announced a 55-man preliminary squad for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Black Stars, who did not participate in the 2018 tournament in Russia, are back in the competition and have been placed in Group H with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

Prior to facing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2, respectively, Ghana’s first match is against Portugal on November 24.

Prior to departing for Qatar for the World Cup, the Black Stars will take on Switzerland in a friendly international match on November 17.

For the competition, which is slated to take place in Qatar from November 20–December 18, the roster will be narrowed down to 26 players.

Meanwhile, According to Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, the government would spend over $8 million during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The four-time African champions, who defeated rivals Nigeria in the play-offs in March to earn their spot in the World Cup, will be returning to the competition, which gets off on November 20. Ghana is in the challenging Group H, along with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.
