Former Manchester United player, Owen Hargreaves, advised his former Club to avoid playing Barcelona in the Europa League’s knockout rounds.

Recall that Erik Ten Hag’s team needed to defeat Real Sociedad by at least two goals to take first place in Group E, but they were only able to score one on Thursday night after a goal from Gamacho in the first half.

In the end, Manchester United may meet Ajax, Juventus, and Barcelona in the play-off in February.

The clubs who placed second in the Europa League would play these third-place opponents from the respective Champions League groups.

However, Hargreaves said that playing Barca would be a hard challenge for Man United in a discussion on BT Sport.

“I’m not like Scholesey, I hope they avoid Barca,”

“Get Barca in the final, don’t want to play Barca because that could be a really hard game.

“But they’re all really good sides, good footballing sides, with good managers.”

When and where will the Playoff draw be held?

The English Premier League teams have all earned passage to the next stage of the Champions League and Europa League, and they are anticipating Monday’s Last-16 and Last-32 draws.

The draw, which will determine each team’s fate regarding prospective opponents, will take place in Switzerland.

The final 16 matches, as usual, will take place in February and March. The remaining four matches will follow the month after the quarterfinals, which are scheduled for April. The World Cup will cause the final of this season to take place in Istanbul one day later than normal, which is on June 10, 2023.
