2023 Election: Top 10 States With Least Number Of Voters

At least ten thousand lecturers and students of the Bayero University in Kano may participate in the conduct of the forthcoming 2023 general elections as Ad-hoc staff.

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) is said to have presented the slots to the varsity’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Abbas, on Wednesday.

Disclosing the process of recruitment, INEC’s Director of General Administration and Procurement, Lawal Sauri, said interested members of the academic community who wished to participate in the exercise could apply immediately online.

Sauri explained that the forms are for academic and non-teaching staff and students. He, therefore, called on interested persons to “apply online and after that come over for the collection of the hard copy application forms.”

However, Sauri, accompanied by the top management staff of the commission, stressed that “Only those who apply online will be considered.”

In his remark, shortly after the presentation of the forms, Abbas commended INEC for considering BUK as a worthy partner.

The varsity Don assured that “the management will make the forms available to any interested persons and will make sure that such persons are recruited for the election exercise.”

Meanwhile, a directive had been given that a general circular was published calling for interested persons to collect the forms.

Tinubu’s Running Mate, Shettima Suffering From Amnesia – PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is full of secrecy, and Nigerians cannot place their faith in the party, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the nation’s main opposition said APC’s presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima, was running his mouth like someone suffering from amnesia when he played down PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s ability to unify Nigeria.

Naija News understands that Shettima and his principal, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, asserted that Atiku could not unite Nigeria when he could not unite his party.

The APC chieftains remarked yesterday at a meeting with private-sector players in Lagos. In a swift response to the APC presidential hopeful and his running mate, the Director of Strategic Communications of the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign, Dele Momodu, suggests Shettima suffers from amnesia.

In a rejoinder, Momodu said Shettima tried to point fingers at the specks in another man’s eyes while ignoring those in his.

The PDP insists the APC is in total disarray, with prominent members openly apologizing to Nigerians for ‘unmitigated disaster”.

According to the PDP chieftain, it took almost forever for the ruling party to constitute its Presidential Campaign Council due to disunity.

It is very obvious that APC has become completely rudderless, and many self-respecting members are jumping ship and being recovered by PDP,” he said.
