Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer (FPPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has come under attack on social media for posting photos of himself and Nigerian singer David Adeleke (Davido), including other officers on Twitter to mourn Ifeanyi Adeleke’s death.

Naija News reports that netizens went cold yesterday after reports emerged that Davido’s son with Chioma Rowland drowned and died in a pool in their house.

The singer and his family have been receiving condolence messages from colleagues, politicians and fans across boards.

Taken to his official Twitter page on Wednesday morning, Prince Adejobi said the police force sympathizes with Davido and his family over the demise of the young boy.

The police mouthpiece assured that the Lagos Command of the force would carry out a proper investigation to unravel the mystery behind Ifeanyi’s death.

Prince Muyiwa’s tweet reads: “Hhmm, We all sympathise with you, Davido, may the Lord console you and your family, while we assure you and Nigerians that the Lagos Command will do a proper investigation on the ugly incident. May the Lord repose the soul of your son. Ire o.”

The personnel’s post, however, has attracted insults from some netizens who said Prince Muyiwa didn’t have to upload the old photos of the singer at this time. They described the post as insensitive.

Kolawole AWESU [@kolaawesu07] said: “Muyiwa, you can tweet that message without adding the pictures. What’s the relevance of the pictures to the situation in question?

Udeh Patrick Path [@PathUdeh] – The pics there was not necessary, although u might want to make people understand how close you are to @Davido is fine. I can not imagine how pained that guy is right now. He was too close to that child losing that child is hell for him right now.

Mumudoctor🇳🇬🇨🇦 [@mumudoctor] – “Anything for attention, Weldon Sir.

Ade Osinaike [@AdeMacOsinaike] – “Mr. Ire o. PR is not showbiz please. Why post these pictures at this time? And no r in ugly Sir. Measure many times before cutting always.

“You can make the tweet without the picture sir and we will still get the message. Bloggers won’t take this pictures as old pictures,” ObaFemi [@Geo_phat] said.

“So unprofessional, the pictures are not necessary,” ceesparkle [@iwo_sophia] tweeted.

“OGA no serious investigation is required here, just go to the house and demand for the CCTV footage,” said Expensive Aboki [@D_truthmachine] in reaction to the Lagos Command’s investigation.

Meanwhile, JaJa laws [@Boma_jaja1] has asked Prince Adejobi to take down the post. He wrote: “Take down the pictures mumu officers displaying high level of unprofessionalism”.
