It’s Time For Nigerians To Punish APC, Tinubu For Misrule – PDP Campaign

The Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, Kola Ologbondiyan, has slammed the response of the Federal Government to the terror threats in Abuja.

Ologbondiyan was reacting to the comments made by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on the terror alerts raised by the United States and other foreign countries.

Naija News recalls that Mohammed had declared that the security situation in Nigeria is not as bad as some people are painting it to be, saying that there was no attempt to attack the nation’s Federal Capital Territory.

He said such unguarded statements are capable of disrupting the peace and tranquility of Nigeria and urged foreign countries to always seek clarification on such important national issues.

Mohammed advanced that the country is safer in recent times while both the government and military authorities are not resting in their attempts to make things better.

In an interview with Vanguard, on Sunday, Ologbondiyan said the Muhammadu Buhari government has shown a lack of capacity to deal with security challenges in the country.

The PDP chieftain said the security alerts by the US and other countries about a possible terror attack in the FCT should not be treated with levity and not be dismissed.

Ologbondiyan said he expected the Buhari administration to engage with the Western countries and take proactive steps to diffuse the threat before it becomes a reality.

He said: “I’m, like most Nigerians and friends of this great country worried because this regime has demonstrated a gross lack of capacity to deal with security issues.

“We have never had it this bad. Kidnappings and jailbreaks have become commonplace.

“The security alert issued by friends of Nigeria through western embassies about a possible terror attack on our nation’s Capital should not be treated with levity.

“Instead of dismissing the threat with worthless statements, we expect the APC regime to engage with the sources of this classified information and take pro-active steps to diffuse the threat before it becomes a reality.
