Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez, has revealed that he still has the backing of the Catalan giant, Barcelona.

Naija News recalls that after making an impression with his first coaching job with Qatari club Al Sadd, the Spaniard was lured back to replace Ronald Koeman.

The Blaugrana Legend received more than €150 million to spend on transfers in the summer after Koeman was replaced.

He added players like Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha, but the team once again struggled in Europe as a result.

The Spanish manager has admitted that despite the team’s Champions League elimination, he is optimistic that the management won’t fire him.

Xavi maintains that there are enough causes for optimism for Barca, nevertheless.

He said during a press conference prior to their weekend match, “There are no doubts results will come. I have the confidence of the president [Joan Laporta], the board and [directors of football] Mateu [Alemany] and Jordi [Cruyff].

“There is nothing for it but to keep working hard.”

Barcelona is second in the La Liga standings, behind the reigning champions, Real Madrid.

Also, Xavi’s men were shown the exit door after losing three of their last five games, drawing one, and winning only one in the UEFA champions league.
