Former Manchester United caretaker, Ralf Rangnick has revealed that Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and five other stars were discussed as potential targets by the club.

During his tenure as manager, the Austrian manager wanted to bolster United’s roster but the board did not support him.

However, the club’s signing of Antony, Casimero, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez over the summer shows support for Erik ten Hag, Rangnick’s replacement.

Rangnick, speaking to a German media outlet, said, “There was no such dossier, and it was never wanted by the club,”

“But even without such a script, it was clear to everyone that there was a need in many areas.

“That’s why we were already discussing players like Josko Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. Those were names that were realistic.” he stressed.

“We also talked about Alvaro Morata, Luis Diaz, Dusan Vlahovic and, as I said, Haaland when they were still on the market. But the club decided at that time to rebuild the team under the new coach.”

Ten Hag Confirms Cristiano Ronaldo’s return

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo will be available for Man United’s game on Thursday night, according to Ten Hag.

In order to play Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League, the coach decided to put his disagreement with the Portuguese star behind him and announced that Cristiano Ronaldo would be joining the squad.
