Freedom For Nnamdi Kanu Is A Condition For Peace In The South East - Ogah

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has told the federal government which sought an adjournment of its application today in court to either file the application or forget it.

Naija News reports that this follows the refusal of the Appeal Court to grant the federal government’s request to adjourn the hearing.

The Appeal Court after resuming its noon session on the matter asked the federal government to either move its application to seek a stay of execution of the judgment that set free the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu or forget it.

The federal government’s lawyer, David Kaswe however complained Kanu’s lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN,) served him with a counter affidavit on Friday.

Recall the Naija News had reported earlier that the federal government had requested the Court of Appeal in Abuja to grant her a stay of execution to counter the Appeal Court’s judgment that discharged the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The federal government wants a stay of execution on the October 13 judgment of the Appeal Court that freed Kanu, and voided his rendition from Kenya to Nigeria on account of a breach of local and international laws.

Naija News reported that in a notice of appeal marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2025, which was sighted by pressmen, a three-panel Court would determine the FG’s motion on notice.
