The Super Falcons of Nigeria will compete alongside co-hosts Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland In Group B of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Falcons will begin their campaign against the current women’s Olympic champions, Canada, on July 21, 2023, before taking on co-hosts Australia on July 27, according to the draw, which was held on Saturday at the Aotea Center in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Falcons’ final group game will be against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.

Super Falcons 2023 FIFA-world Cup draw

Recall that in April of this year, Canada played the Falcons in a two-game friendly, winning the first game 2-0 and pressuring the girlsĀ to a 2-2 draw in the second.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup will have two hosts for the first time in 2023 when Australia and New Zealand co-host with each other. The tournament will expand from 24 to 32 teams and take place from 20 July to 20 August 2023.

Having won the two prior competitions in 2015 and 2019, the United States is the reigning champion.

Newcomers to the Women’s World Cup include the Philippines, Vietnam, Republic of Ireland, Morocco, and Zambia.
