'Why Nunez And Haaland Comparison Is Unfair' - Robertson

Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez, has broken the record for the quickest player in Premier League history.

Naija News recall that the Uruguayan striker moved to the English club for a fee of £64.1million, making him potentially the most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history.

Liverpool’s record-breaking signing, Darwin Nunez, may not have had the best season opener, but he still broke the record to become the fastest player in Premier League history.

As the Reds defeated West Ham 1-0, the 23-year-old set a new benchmark in the English Premier League (EPL) by reaching a top speed of 23.61 miles per hour.

The Manchester City player Kyle Walker’s previous mark of 23.48 mph from June 2020 has been surpassed by Uruguayan international Nunez.

The forward had a top speed of 22.68 mph while playing for Benfica after Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe’s 22.8 mph record which he had against Real Madrid.

What did Jurgen Klopp say about Darwin Nunez?

Meanwhile, Nunez performed admirably without Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who believes Nunez is now fulfilling his potential as his team starts to turn things around.

The German boss, speaking on Nunez’s performance, said, “It (his goal) is important. He has scored now a couple of times in the last few games. He arrived 100 per cent, now even with numbers, which is fine.”
