EPL: Man United Reportedly Want Van Der Sar As Next Director Of Football
Manchester United are reportedly considering hiring former goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar as their new director of football.
According to reports from the Netherlands, the club contacted the Ajax Chief last week.
With the help of the former Dutch goalkeeper, the Red Devils have reportedly begun a new chapter this season with a wealth of talent from the Dutch club.
Manager Erik ten Hag, winger Antony, and centre-back Lisandro Martinez have all been recruited from the Dutch league.
According to Voetbal Primeur, a Dutch outlet, United now wants their club legend Van der Sar, who has played a key role in Ajax’s recent success as their CEO, to lead them into the future.
The report also claims that United will find it “difficult” to entice him back to Manchester after only recently extending his contract until 2025.
However, the Red Devils would benefit from the move since Ten Hag and Van der Sar got along well at Ajax, where they spent five years together in the Dutch league.
