The Bureau of Public Enterprises has compiled a list of Federal Government assets that would be concessioned.

Naija News reports that the latest development is in a bid to fund the 2023 budget.

The BPE’s Head of Public Communications, Uzoma Chidi Ibeh, in an interview with PUNCH disclosed the list has been compiled and there was no bidder yet for the assets.

According to him, the FG was spending so much money financing many National projects on the list as well as paying staff salaries.

He added that the government is more concerned about having real investors and not people who would be stripping the nation’s assets.

In his word: “The list is being compiled. There is no bidder yet, but we have a register of all the assets.

“The Federal Government is putting a lot of money into financing those projects. The government pays staff liability and salaries but it is tired of paying them. Our interest is to stop those expenses.

“The capacity is more important. We don’t want to get someone who will be stripping the national assets”

Ganduje’s Son Using Govt Properties To Fund Campaign

Meanwhile, the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has alleged that Abba Ganduje, son of the Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, is diverting government properties into his campaign.

Abba is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives (Dawakin Tofa, Rimingado and Tofa federal constituency) in Kano state.

The NNPP chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, in a statement said that the party had discovered that the state government diverted over 30 vehicles from the Kano Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) to the campaign activities of the APC candidate.

The party alleged that the vehicles in question which carried Abba’s image were to be distributed to the APC ward chairmen of Rimingado, Tofa and Dawakin Tofa Federal constituency to checkmate the incumbent, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, who distributed about 20 cars to his party members recently.

The statement further revealed that the said vehicles had been assembled at the temporary campus of Northwest University, Kano, awaiting distribution to supporters of Abba Ganduje.
