Badaru, Others Appointed Into 1,500-member APC Campaign Council In Jigawa

Governor Mohammed Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa has been appointed as the Chairman of the 2023 gubernatorial Campaign Council and Committees in the state.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday in Dutse, the state capital, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in the state, Alhaji Aminu Kiskis, said the council consists of 1500 members.

Kiskis said the Jigawa Deputy Governor, Umar Namadi, and the APC gubernatorial candidate, Bello Maitama, were appointed as Deputy Chairmen.

The APC chairman in the state added that the council is responsible for coordinating all campaign activities for the 2023 general elections.

Others on the list are Isa Gerawa, Senator Mohammed Ibrahim, Senator Ibrahim Hassan, Senato Mustapha Makama, Malam Jinjiri Abdullahi, Senator Danladi Sankara and Ahmed Mahmoud as vice chairmen.

Kiskis disclosed that the campaign council and the committee members would be inaugurated on Monday.

2023: PDP Chieftain Dumps Atiku, Declares Support For Obi

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Sampson Orji, has dumped the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Orji on Wednesday instead declared support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

The former governorship aspirant promised to vote for Obi in the forthcoming election.

According to Orji, Obi’s antecedents and competence put him above other presidential candidates.

Orji while speaking during a radio programme promised to mobilise support for Obi not because he is his fellow Igbo but because of his antecedents.

He further stated that asking him to choose between Atiku and Obi is like asking him to choose between darkness and light.

Orji in his statement declared the former Governor of Anambra State as light.
